The goal is to simplify the planning process and reduce the legwork of sourcing across multiple destinations.

 

Is there a cost to use Outside the Box BC's planning services?

Outside the Box BC's planning and destination matching services are provided at no cost to event planners. The service is funded by the destination partners it represents.

 

How do I submit an RFP through Outside the Box BC?

Event planners can submit a Request for Proposal directly through the Outside the Box BC website. The RFP form captures key details about your group size, dates, budget, and event requirements, which are then shared with relevant suppliers across the represented destinations.

What types of events can Outside the Box BC help plan?

Outside the Box BC supports a wide range of corporate events including conferences, annual general meetings, board retreats, team-building experiences, incentive trips, and association gatherings.

Why should I consider a smaller BC city for my next corporate event or meeting?

Smaller BC destinations like Kamloops, Nanaimo, and Penticton offer competitive pricing, easier group logistics, and more personalized service than major metros. Attendees are often more engaged when events are held in unexpected, scenic locations, and planners typically find it easier to negotiate with local suppliers.

Does Outside the Box BC offer an incentive program for event planners?

Yes. Outside the Box BC offers a planner incentive program designed to reward event professionals who bring business to our smaller BC destinations. Planners who book one event in more than one of the three represented destinations within a five-year period earn $10 back per room night at each destination. To participate, planners must sign an incentive agreement outlining the terms and conditions. The payout from the first destination is issued after the second booking is contracted.
